En Ti Yo Creo is inspired by the artist Jose Guadalupe Posada. The artwork is also known as Milagro de La Virgen de Guadalupe (Miracle of Virgin Mary). The artwork illustrates a drunk man, who seems to be beating up his child, and on the left side, there is a wife who is praying towards Virgin Mary in a moment of fear because shes frighten for her child. I used this piece for inspiration for my artwork, because my piece was done during the rising of the corona-virus, and in my, I am praising and paying towards virgin to keep my family safe from harm, and in Jose Posada, he illustrates a mother praying to keep his child safe because she is in a situation where she is powerless, and her only option is to pray.

My artwork was also inspired by one of Nicholas Enriquez's pieces called, The Virgin of Guadalupe with the Four Apparitions. This artwork, " was the most widely venerated sacred image in New Spain. Here, the miraculous image is encircled by four scenes that attest to its divine origin"( Metmuseum.org. 2020). I used this artwork for inspiration to create my piece by the use of detail, and the use of space. I was able to contribute the position of the Virgin Mary, and similar colors like her forest green cape, and the stars in her cape. I mainly use this artwork to look back and outline the major details of the Virgin Mary.
