Process
Experimentation:
- First, I wanted to remodel the lockers that we have at Reagan they are very small, and to close together that we rather just carry our mesh backpacks. That was one of my classmate's ideas, and it sounded cool but I wanted to do something that I can personally relate to. I made a list that I had problems with, and for moth solutions already existed I just couldn't afford that. And I wanted to create something that can benefit any gender and will be used every day. That is when I decided to base my drawer off my cousin's problem, a problem I was able to relate too and create a solution.
- I experimented with different websites, Photoshop and photo pea.
- Technology is a way was all experiment , figuring out what each tool does.
- My first print my printing came off way to small, and turned out I had the wrong size so I had to redo everything.
The way my drawer was developed:
1: I made a list of problems I had 2: I chose the idea of a personal problem (It also involved beauty, one of my art themes) 3: I developed a mind map, based on thoughts on how the drawer would look 4: did difference sketches on hoe the drawer could look, each drawer had a difference then I chose the one that interest and would benefit me more. 5: I recreated sketch cleaned them up and scanned them with a scanner I used in class. 6: I uploaded the pictures to photo pea 7: I began to create my storyboard based on the problems I had, explained my solution and added the pictures I've scanned. 8: After I finished my college in photo pea, I saved it as a jpg and moved it to my flash drive. 9: I insert my flash drive to a printer, and choose on file, then waited for it to print. 10: After it printed I cut any additional paper to clean up the print 11: I added this glue spray called Multipurpose adhesive to the back of the paper and slowly pasted it on blackboard 20 by 30. |

Reflection:
I am satisfied with my final product. It was worth it, I encountered a variety of difficulties. At first, Photoshop would crash a lot because we were using very old computers and what did not help was that over 40 students were trying to use an app at the same time that slowed down the software. Time was running out, and I need to discover a website that allowed me to do my work that was compatible with my Chromebook so I could work at it at home. I discovered a website called photo pea, that allowed me to do my project with the same quality. I never photo shopped so it was a new experience, It was very difficult at first because I did not know how to move something, rotate, crop, increase or decrease and it was frustrating. After I got the hang of it, I had to redo everything because when talking to a professional industrial designer named, Megan she told me to reorganize my board because it was all over the place, and she said it took her eyes everywhere. I ended up moving everything, adding borders, and labels to each sketch. I was finally done, but then I saved it wrong and I had to redo everything because it was saved in the wrong size. Therefore I had to redo everything into the right size board. I finally got it right and printed paper and pasted it onto my board.
Act Questions
Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect upon your artwork:
Murf and Megan are industrial designers who guided me through the process, and helped me brain storm ideas, create sketched of my product to further developed my final story board.
What is the overall approach (pov) the author (from research) has regarding the topic of your inspiration?
Murf and Katie guided me through the brainstorming by making me think of color, shape, size and brand. Making the project flow smoothly.
What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, etc. while you researched your inspiration?
I have learned that not many high school students have had a chance to work with industrial designers. And that industrial design takes a lot of brainstorming, and sill thinking of ways to improve that product.
What was the central idea or theme around your inspirational research?
The central idea was re modeling a drawer , by adding accessorizes that helped stay organize products such as makeup, hairspray and heating tools. Along with special benefits. Connecting to one of my themes, beauty.
What kind of inferences did you make while reading your research?
I inferred that Murf and Katie were going to actually make this project a success, because they have been working in this field for a long time, and they knew what they were doing.
